CEOs COAL MINES AND OIL INDUSTRY MUST BE PUNISHED WITH JAIL TIME OR MORE!!

(WRITTEN June 3, 2009)

(UNEDITED, UNABRIDGED)

WALL STREET& BANKERS

Americans are told that there are corporations that are so big and powerful that they cannot fail!! This is easily followed by the notion and practice that the leaders/CEOs of these omnipotent institutions cannot do any thing that is punishable by law. This is readily seen in the fact that the CEOs of tobacco, Halliburton, Wall Street, Exxon/Mobil, BP etc have been on numerous times called before Congress for grievous and criminal activities but seldom if ever given any punishment for tier activities! If BP and Tabacco were human beings they would be in jail by now!! (Bruce Dixon, What If BP Were A Human Being?, http://www.alternet.org/story/146756/, May 12, 2010)

Presently The Coal and Petroleum industry have been criminally responsible for the death of many America workers. But they have yet to be punished for these crimes against humanity. (Robert Greenwald, Companies Kill 16 Workers A Day, AlterNet.org, November 16, 2009) There will be no change in the culture of American Business until the leaders CEOs are sent to jail or other wise punished the same as any common criminal who robs a all night market or fellow citizen. If BP were a person it would be a career criminal, a pathological liar and an international serial killer with a rap sheet several times the size of the Chicago Yellow Pages (Bruce Dixon, Black Agenda Report Posted on May 12, 2010.)

There is little disagreement with the observation that America’s institutions which include, philosophical, moral, ethics, and economic, are in a state of crisis! This crisis is a foundational Constitutional one. Our Constitution is a document of Laws, which advocate Ideals but has been run far too long but the people of power. There are many people who provide their view of solutions. These solutions need to be distilled into simple series of statements, which give a road map to solutions.

America needs its laws to keep us from devouring each other. But laws have at least two components, 1. Laws are made based on accepted citizen behavior. The behavior is both moral and folkways in nature. 2. The law sometimes provides the punishment for violations. But many violations are based on the violations of morals abd ethetics which are based on the Religious foundations (e. g. One Nation under God in the US Constitutions). In other words something may be strictly immoral or amoral but causes harm that is not easily bound for punishment in the law. For example, a company can produce a product such as Tobacco and cause more deaths than any other public hazard. But the law does not state the punishment as death to the producers if you cannot show that they knew and intended to sell it to the public any way! The moving of American jobs over seas has produced much suffering and there is great reason to conclude that the industries leaders knew of this outcome. But it is difficult to punish the couplets with the proof that they deliberately did this with the full knowledge of harm in mind. (Robb Crocker, Countrywide's Mozilo Under SEC Investigation, Regulator is probing CEO's stock sales. Home Builder, October 18, 2007)

When we look at crime in general America criminal CEOs’ get off with crimes that may have killed thousands and only receive a term in the federal Prison Country Clubs playing golf and tennis for a few years. In contrast when a poor smuck kills his neighbor he is usually given the death penalty twice over. If BP and Tabacco were human veing they would be in jail by now. (Bruce Dixon, What If BP Were A Human Being?, http://www.alternet.org/story/146756/, May 12, 2010) If the act of sending a nation to war by telling the citizens a lie results in the death of thousands of our sons and daughters this crime is difficult to punish because the morality of the “Cause” is distributed among the approvals of many in the US government-and the carnage goes on! Until America starts to punish these bankers and other CEOs of Financial Institutions for their crimes against the nation and humanity, there will be more of this bad behavior going on!! If these acts are unethical, immoral, and harmful to citizens, there must be some criminal acts going on also!
