ELECTED OFFICIALS WORKING AGAINST THE PEOPLE’S GOOD AND FOR PRIVATE INTEREST MUST BE PUNISHED!!!

It is time that all good Americans take the opportunity to disabuse our fellow Americans of the belief that Government is a thing aside from them and not "of, by, and for" them (the people)!! We all hear the lie that Government Programs harm the voter. How can this be when Americans vote for candidates, who promise by the contract signed by a vote to carry pur certain specific and general representative tasks/functions. As our elected officials when a Congressperson vote for what is harmful for the public and what is good for special interest they are in violation of their oath of office and must be punished for being amoral, traitorous, and criminal. This truth must be driven home in the up coming election 2010!

There are at least three pieces of legislation before the people's government before the 2010 elections; 1. Health Care with strong Public Option, 2. Global Warming or energy conservation, 3, Jobs This is the time when Americans can judge if their present Congress and President is worthy reelecting to office. We should make it an easy decision; If a Congressperson does not support these pieces of legislation then they should be voted out!! It is as simple as that. Spread this around regularly and quickly!!!

In response to this proposed view many respondents choose to debate the nature of our Government instead of reacting to the common practice of elected officials doing business other than that they were elected to do;

Dr, I only wish it were so. As near as I can tell our US Government is now in control of unknown major corporations and foreign countries, who own every elected official. Decisions, Laws, Legislation have gone beyond stupid or mistakes. This is pure evil corruption that is eroding our very lives.

You are so on target. Our elected officials are in violation of the oath they took to do their duty for the people who voted them in. They are in violation of their contracts and participating in criminal activities. They are owned by the special interests and no more the representatives of the people! They should be properly placed on trial convicted of their crimes and negligence of moral duties and punished severely

I am not American am just a student in the U.K but I have seen the CEO's of big businesses and the FED slowly take over the American government. They care more about their make-up and TV shows than their governments. They say that the constitution is "out-of-date" what they are basically saying that democracy is "out-of-date" they seem to welcome tyranny.

You can't find the word 'democracy' anywhere in the Constitution. It's not there.

We are proudly a constitutional republic. But the constitution supports democracy Abraham Lincoln defined democracy as a government of the people, by the people and for the people. That is what the constitution is.

Ben Franklin described democracy as two wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner. I like Ben's definition better.

But democracy is better than tyranny. Only problem is that democracy can be manipulated into tyranny by a corrupt few.

If our Congress does not support the legislation that is before them and good for the people, “LETS VOTE THE BUM(S) OUT IN 2010!!!”
